Post numero dos
So i got out of work at noon, so I didn't have to work too long. Austin and I have been busy today getting the new house in order, and it is starting to feel more and more like home. I'm starting to get rid of the clutter on the coutner and actually put stuff away so that is nice too. I'm going to re-organize the cubboards tomorrow since where i put things when we initially moved in isn't the best place to put them.

Right now we are watching Employee of the Month with Dane Cook...we are only 10 minutes into it but so far it isn't impressing me much.

At work today...
I'm at work today (yes I realize it is saturday!). We are having a utility fee increase on April 1st at the City for new utility permits and so I had to come in to change all of the fees. I came in at 8 and it is 10 now and my boss is just testing and all seems to be going well so far. If I have to change all of our ready to issue permits that weren't paid for yet, i could be here for a few more hours, but if we are just going to do them next week then I should be able to go shortly which is fun.

The rest of the blinds for our house came yesterday. We hung a few, we bought honeycombs for the downstairs and wood slats for the rest of the house.

Wednesday
today was an awful day at work, I can't go into details here on my blog unfortunately (learned that lesson the hard way with my LAST job). I did get to leave early to go for my annual doctors visit. I really like my doctor, she is great and easy to talk to. My only complaint is that she is always running late, but that's becuase she spends SO much time with each patient.

The desktop computer still hasn't been unpacked, and the zillion wires that go along with the computer are still packed in a box. Austin is busy putting together a new desk that we bought, which has drawers and all sorts of difficult things so it is taking a long time to put it together. Stuff like that I have no patience for, but he seems to enjoy putting things together. Hopefully we will have the computer up and running soon and I can download some pictures of the new house!

Wow, it's sunday already?
This weekend has FLOWN by! WOW! We moved our fish tank and the remaining "stuff" over from the townhouse on saturday, and this morning we cleaned and cleaned and cleaned. Our renters wanted to move in TODAY. We had plans to paint and do a few improvements but they were so keen on moving in sooner they said don't worry about it. Ok, no worries! Now we don't have to spend that money lol. So we were done cleaning at about noon and shortly thereafter the renters moved in. So that's all done.

I spent most of the day today moving moxes around and thing to get things a bit more organized in the new house. Things are coming along nicely, although we still have a long ways to go. But at least it's livable! I'm doing some laundry in our new high efficiency washer/dryer set from whirlpool, and it has a super large washer so I can now do 3 loads of laundry now in 1 load so that's also VERY fun :)

Time to go back to work tomorrow, I'm tired and just don't want to go, but I will. lol!

Have a great week!

Grrr
She showed up at 7:45, a full 2 hours later than when she was expected. And didn't even provide an excuse. I was STARVING and pretty grumpy by this time, and was looking forward to going out for Mexican food (which is what Austin and I decided on while we waited for 2 hours for to show up). So we show her the new house, and volunteer going out to Mexican which she said oooo good and then she said how about Papa Franks (which is this awful hole in the wall spagetti place in Broomfield that I just hate...dont like the food, dont like the service, don't like the ambiance, but i like the prices.). But anyways, we end up going to a dinner I don't even want to go to. What a waste of an evening.

Sigh.

Anyways, Austin went to a movie with his best friend and I went to Target and am now at home watching Greys Anatomy.

An update...
I've had a lot of requests for photos, and we don't really have any yet. And even if I did, the office isn't set up yet which is where my camera download cable is. We have yet to move the fish tank so we have had to go over and feed them every night, luckily the townhouse is about a mile away so it's not too bad to go over there. We plan to clean the place up and move the fish tomorrow, and we might hire someone to do a bit of painting and then our renters are moving in April 1st.

Things are going well in the new house, we are starting to unpack and it's starting to feel like home which is fun!

We are waiting to go out to dinner with a friend of Austin's from a long time ago who is ALWAYS notoriously late...right now she is an hour and a half late. It's so incredibly frustrating. I don't even want to go to dinner now, I'm just pissed off. And she does it EVERY single time. And every time I get pissed off. And she never has a good excuse either, like she got in an accident or something totally excusable. It's usually something like oh I was watching tv and forgot the time. BAH.

Moving sucks...but the house is nice :)
Wow, it's already sunday night. Time flies when you are working your butt off! We closed on our new house on friday morning at 9 am, uneventful and we were done by 10 (after I cursed myself for deciding that hypenating my last name with Austin's was a good idea and created a last name that is now 28 characters...signing that over 30 times was no fun). Thursday night we loaded up the UHAUL with all of our boxes and help from Austin's parents and sister. We went over and spent the remainder of friday moving boxes into the new house from the UHAUL. Talk about tiring. Friday night we moved all of the furniture (well, Austin and his best friend and his parents did) and I tried to get the cats acclimated to the new house.

They were pretty scared the first night, and weren't too happy but they seem to be settling in well now and I think are getting more and more comfortable, they aren't hiding anymore. We have made some significant progress with unpacking which is nice too. I have to go to work tomrorow, but Austin has the day off so I would assume he'll continue getting things squarred away and set up!

But boy, I sure am tired! No pictures yet, the cables and computer is still packed so I can't download them...but I'll get some posted soon!

Sunday
Wow, it's already sunday! This weekend has FLOWN by, a little too fast. My parents are in town, and we are enjoying their visit. Yesterday we went all over town shopping for a washer and dryer, and finally ended up buying a new high efficiency whirpool set at Best Buy! It will be delivered next saturday.

Today we did a lot of packing, and I would say we are about 75 percent done now. The cats are wondering why everything is being stuffed into boxes.

Tomorrow is our 3 year wedding anniversary, and we are goign out to dinner to my favorite restaurant the MELTING POT! My parents will be coming with us, so that will be nice. They leave tuesday morning.

eek!
Eek! There are only 7 more days until we close! We did our final walkthrough with the builder this morning. It took about 2 hours. My father in law came along, and if he hadn't it would have taken about 1 hour and 45 minutes less! lol He noticed SO many things that we just didn't, we are just so excited that we rae about to finally move into the house already! There wasn't anything too noteworthy, just dings and scratches.

My parents also arrived today around noon. They plan to stay until tuesday and then head back to Vancouver Island. Tomorrow we plan to go by the house so they can take a look. We also plan to go looking for a new washer and dryer set this weekend! fun stuff :)

Pack Attack
The packing has begun. I went to a used box store today in a really sleazy part of Denver and picked up some boxes to begin packing the rest of the stuff we didn't already pack up when we put the house on the market way back last April. Figure might as well start now, the next two weeks are going to go fast!

I'm going for training for the next two days in south Denver. I'm looking forward to it, those who have been to it have said it was really valuable!

My parents, for those of you who don't know, bought a house in Puerto Vallarta Mexico and live there for 5 months each year. They go down around November and come back around March. They are on their way back up to Canada, and are stopping in Denver this weekend. I'm glad that they will get to see the new house, although we really hoped we would be all moved in by the time they came up. They just couldn't wait any longer, and we just kept having delays. Oh well!
