Disneyland
We booked our flights to Southern California. I have a conference I am attending in Anaheim and so we are going to extend the trip and spend a full week down there. Austin LOVES theme parks so he plans to go to Disneyland and do all the rides and stuff while I am at the conference, and then at night we'll visit other places. I'm not a big ride person, I dont enjoy them and I throw up so this is a great compromise. We got a great deal on our air tickets into LAX, so now we need to rent a car. LAX has high tax rates for rental cars so we will have to do some investigative searching to get a good deal!

looking forward to it! If anyone has southern california tips, let me know! We plan to also go to San Diegio and visit the Zoo and Sea World of course.

Weekends
Weekends are great. I love them. They are just WAY too short. This weekend's theme has been friends. Yesterday an old friend that I used to work with came up to see the new house and we went for lunch and then went to the mall to go shopping. I ended up buying things for my dear husband, and nothing for myself. That NEVER happens lol! Today www.accidentaljulie.com and I are going for pedicures and then to lunch, and then Target :) usually our lunches involve a trip to the mall but I got that out of my system yesterday!

I found a cute console table for the entry way, which is something I have been looking for awhile now. I found a bunch I really liked but they were WAY more than I wanted to spend. This one looks simple, fits the space, and the price was right! AND it was easy to install. I'll take a picture later today and post.

fish at work...

IS A DON'T.

Ugh. Someone needs to tell my co-worker that it is NOT ok to heat up a big hunk of salmon and eat it at your desk at lunch. It smells absolutely revolting in here, so fishy and just…gross.

I’m going to go hurl now.

Ugh. It's hot. Summer is here

Well, summer has arrived in Colorado. Time to start thinking about moving to Seattle again, or Alaska. Highly unlikley, but man oh man both Austin and I hate the summers in Colorado. It is just WAY too hot to spend any time outside.

The forecast for the next week has high temperatures. The only way it could be worse is if they threw in a 100 F forecast in there. That will be coming in July and August I am sure.

Painting your own nails...
Not so easy! And definately not as fun as a pedicure/manicure. But I am being cheap so I thought I'd paint my toes since they were in desperate need. My feet look like clown feet but oh well.

It's getting to be hot in Denver, today it reached 95 F. Yikes. Our AC works pretty well but upstairs our master bedroom is on the face of the sun (well ok it feels like it is due to it's south facing location). We went after work today to get a ceiling fan and it took us over an hour to pick out out. Apparently trying to find a ceiling fan that has a remote (so we can control it using the light switch), uses regular light bulbs, and looks halfway decent is no easy feat. We finally ended up with one we can live with, but my god I don't see us going ceiling fan shopping anytime soon. So frustrating after we left.

An old colleague of mine from my Atlanta days is coming out to Denver tomorrow with his wife. Chuck was my mentor at an environmental planning firm and we always worked really well together. It doesn't help that he absolutely adores me :) Who doesn't right! (ok don't answer that!). We are going out to dinner tomorrow night before they head out to Kansas for his 50th high school reunion or something like that. I haven't seen Chuckles since I moved out to Denver from Atlanta (all on my own without knowing a soul out here!) so it will be good to see him! He's never met Austin either.

Here's a shocker...
I actually WORKED out tonight. I know...shocking isn't it! I finally got off my lazy large behind and walked to the rec center and did aqua aerobics with Julie. And...it felt good. REALLY good. I need to get into the habit of going regularily. I have been really stressed lately with things at work and working out could be a really really good outlet for me. Plus, I'm fat and it's be nice to not be so fat.

Anyways, one day at a time. I have hopes to go work out tomorrow again, I hope I will.

Productive weekend
We had a fairly productive weekend. I went to bed at 7:30 friday night, I wasn't feeling great for some reason and I guess just needed to sleep. I woke up at 5:30 am on saturday morning to bring Heidi and Nizar to the airport who were going to Puerto Vallarta for a week on vacation (lucky bastards). Came back and caught up on some cooking shows on the Food Network and had a bit of a nap. Austin and I went to see Knocked Up on saturday and it was pretty funny! I have spent the rest of the weekend putzing around and am beginning to hang things in the house and the cabinets are finally all organized and good to go :)

Not ready to go back to work yet but, hey what can you do!
