Our two new hanging flower baskets
Bought two hanging baskets today for the front of the house. A little late in the season but they were a great price and I figured better late than never!

We leave on saturday for California, should be fun. Otherwise haven't really been up to much really.

Entree vous was good, meals seem to taste much better than Supper Solutions. I'd go back.

That's all!

Entree vous
I went to Entree Vous today at 11. It's a kitchen where they have already done the prep work for you and you just assemble your meals and stick them in the freezer. They had an introductory offer of buy 2 get one free, so I thought why not, I'll try it. I have been to their competiror Supper Solutions before, and liked the concept but neither Austin or I liked the food very much. I tried it 3 times before, and just decided that while it was SUCH a great time saver and helped me prepare more meals at home during the work week, the meals just weren't very good.

So when Entree Vous came to town, I thought hey, let's try it. Everything seemed very fresh, and not frozen to begin with which is a good step in the right direction. I was the only person there so the owner was hovering over me. I felt bad for him, since he was obviously bored and they had just opened a few weeks ago so he was excited to have a customer, but it was a little awkward for me. So, I now have 6 meals in the freezer (each meal serves 6 but I cut them into two portions per meal).

So yea. I'll let you know how it turns out. I like the fact that everythign is portion controlled too.

Eight Random Things
Laura was kind enough to think of me when she was tagged for Eight Random Things. So, here are the rules…

1. I have to post these rules before I give you the facts.

2. Each player starts with eight random facts/habits about themselves.

3. People who are tagged need to write their own post about their eight things and post these rules.

4. At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names.

5. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.

Here are the random things:

1. I am a complete freak when it comes to my food “touching” or mixing. I can’t let anything else touch each other (i.e. the potatoes can’t touch the veggie which can’t touch the meat) and will separate my plate at EACH meal as much as I can. Some things are “meant to be” such as lasagna, which is a whole mess of things together, but for the most part I don’t like things to be mixed together.

2. I used to be on the track and field team and won 3rd place in Long Jump and 2nd in shot put in Grade 8.

3. I speak dutch fluently, and used to be pretty fluent in French but it’s been awhile since I last used it. I also learned a bit of german in high school and college.

4. My first car was a 1981 Honda Civic hatchback which was green and I LOVED it. It was a great car.

5. I’m hoping to get my US citizenship before the next election so that I can vote in the next election.

6. I really don’t like sharing. If I share, it means I really like you. It comes from being an only child.

7. I have a really sensitive sense of smell and it really turns me off of a lot of things. Most people really smell bad. Hygiene people, hygiene.

8. I like to treat my cats like they are my children and baby them. They love it. I'm their mummy.

And that’s my contribution. The rules state that I have to tag some other bloggers. So I’ve chosen Julie, Christie, Jenn, Mae, Anna, Amanda, Shirl, and HussleRose.

Speaking of work
Speaking of work, the rest of my co workers I really like and enjoy working with them. So...I happen to be baking a cake and plan to bring it in tomorrow :) The inspectors especially will be appreciative. Yum!

Ungrateful
I have someone who i work with who has issues with me. Actually she has issues in general but honnestly who does not...and she absolutely hates me, becuase I think she thinks I am competition to her or something (which...isn't the case but whatever). Anyways, it's no big secret that she despises the fact that I work there, and after trying so hard to work with her I now just do my own thing and try to limit contact and when I do have to interact with her it is short, sweet and to the point. Anyways, long story short, it was her birthday last friday and I went out and bought her flowers. I am the "birthday" person in the department, meaning I get a card and go around and have everyone sign the card and usually bring in some type of baked good when it is someone's birthday. The co worker used to do this, but about 3 months ago she decided she no longer wanted to participe in anything at work and asked that someone else take it over. So, on friday morning I got her flowers and put them on her desk. I picked out some really nice ones, and ignored the dead cheap flowers thinking that this will be such a nice gesture.

Ummmm...yea. She didn't say thank you and got mad because we celebrated her birthday. WTH. Serriously, the girl has issues. I apparently looked at her lunch one day and complimented her on how good it looked and she wrote this long email to my boss about how i looked at her lunch. Not kidding. Anyways, the flowers are sitting on her desk in a vase and lately all I can think about is either taking the flowers and hitting her on the head with them (immature I know but who doesnt say THANK YOU for flowers and gets bad because you acknowleged someones birthday) OR just throw them out. Ungrateful.

Ok, vent over.

George watching the bunnies outside...i love that you can see his reflection
George loves bunnies...and we have plenty of them outside. I took this picture of him this afternoon, watching them with 100% of his attention. I'm not sure what he would do if he ever got one (and it's unlikely he ever would, since he is never allowed outside) but I always wonder!

We watched the fireworks from our backyard, since they moved the Broomfield Fireworks to the big open area that our house backs up to. Very fun! Austin posted more pictures on his flickr site here.

How to choose paint colors?
I stopped by Home Depot tonight to pick up some paint swatches. I am finally ready to start thinking about painting some walls in our house. How on earth do you choose paint colors though? Jeesh. Austin and I don't exactly have a great eye for decorating, or picking things that match. In our townhouse, we had a deep dark purple living room, a bright yellow dining room, and a red red kitchen. We loved it, but man it just did not flow and it sure was...not subtle in the slightest. So I would prefer to actually pick colors that will flow with each other since our rooms connect.
