We went to the vet today for Jones annual check up. It didn't go very well. The vet noticed a heart murmer that was never there, and also an abnormal heart rythem. So we have to go see a feline cardiologist. They have to make the appointment for us, but it should be within the next 2-3 weeks max. I asked the vet if it WAS something, could it be controlled by medication or what (I immediatey thought I was going to lose Jones soon or something) and she said most likely yes, especially since we probalby caught whatever the issue was early and not to be overly concerned at this point yet but be concerned.
He also has been biting his hair away on his front left paw and I noticed a small scab. Turns out he has scabs all over his left paw. She shaved all of his fur on his right leg (which looks pretty funny) and gave me an ointment to put on it twice a day. She does not know what it is and hopes the ointment will help it heal. He doesnt have scabs anywhere else on his body.
He also lost a full pound in the last year, which for a cat is a pretty big deal! We think it is due to the new house and we notice both cats playing much more so and running up and down the stairs. Jones also is doing a lot more jumping onto counters and up on top of cabinets so he is definately more active.
So...hopefully we will know more in a few weeks.

Poor Jones :( I hope if they do find something that it can be easily managed. The first night we got Katie we took her to the vet for a check up and the new assistant said she had a heart murmur. Even though we had only had her for an hour it was devastating to hear, fortunately the actual vet came in and said she didn't. I kind of wanted to hit the other guy!
