We had our taxes for 2009 done over the weekend. Both of us were hoping for a NICE big refund, partially becuase we both claim zero dependents and also because we took another (as usual) financial hit on our stupid rental property since we were one month without a renter, plus we spent several thousand dollars re-habing the property so it could be re-rented.
Turns out, we owe a small amount to the federal government and get a small amount back from the State of Colorado. Once we pay the tax preparation fees, we pretty much break even. Whoopity doo.
I'm bummed. Fricken taxes man.

That's too bad about the taxes. Last year we owed a ton, into the five figures. This year, because we had three mortgages and the interest rate on our land is a little high, we are getting a a nice bit back. This is the first time, since last year, that we haven't just broken even.
